‘I thank God for this voucher’

Fazila Naidoo found the R2 000 shopping voucher in the June 10 edition of the City Times and plans to share her winnings.

The home executive is the final winner in the Benoni City Times and Pick n Pay Oakfields R2 000 voucher giveaway.

“I plan to give a portion away to a charity of my choice,” she said.

The Mackenzie Park resident said the voucher came at the right time for her.

“I was so shocked when I found the voucher, I had to call the Benoni City Times office to make sure it was me,” she said.

“I thank God for this voucher and I believe that I am blessed and the chosen one for this voucher.”

Naidoo said she has been reading about the winners since the competition began and she asked God when she would win a voucher, and God answered her.

“It is important to give back to the community because the community supports you,” said Pick n Pay Oakfields co-owner, Mario Vingos.

Vingos also decided to support the voucher giveaway with the City Times in support of the redesign of the paper.

“The BCT is a community-based paper, and having the voucher giveaway was good for the paper and created excitement among the community,” he said.

The total amount sponsored by Pick n Pay Oakfields was R16 000, which Vingos thought should be split into R2 000 vouchers, as each winner would be guaranteed a trolley filled with a substantial amount of groceries.
