Power is still off in parts of Crystal Park, Cloverdene and Rynfield.
An Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) official told the City Times this morning at 8.15am that a cable fault at a transformer lead to the outage last night.
“The repair should take the whole day, depending on the severity of the damage to the cable,” the metro said.
This comes after some Crystal Park residents’ electricity was only fully restored on Tuesday, after a fault at a Rynfield substation left Crystal Park, Rynfield and Ebotse Golf and Country Estate without power.
The municipality told the City Times that incident is not related to the present power interruption.
