Feathers in their caps for Indians

Benoni Northerns Indians Ball Club held their annual prize-giving at the club on the night of Friday, March 18.

The following individuals received prizes at the function:

• Apaches u-12: Best batter: Ayden Fourie. Best pitcher and MVP: Megan Cassell. Best fielder: Teagan Karels. Coaches’ choice: Nicole Cottrell.
• Cheyenne u-12: Best batter, best pitcher and MVP: Kyle Schwartz. Best fielder: Robert Emmett; Coaches choice: Aiden Schwartz.
• Mohawks u-15: Best batter: Reece Shub, Best fielder: Jarrod Beukes. Best pitcher: Kyle Weideman. Coaches’ choice: Connor Thomas. MVP: Jamie Ludick.
• Dakota u-15: Best fielder: Corbin Greenslade. Coaches’ choice: Ronan Shub. Best batter, best pitcher and MVP: Kian Schwartz.
• Chiefs Softball Women: Best fielder: Samantha Schwartz. Best pitcher: Lara Alexander. Players’ choice: Karen Groenewald. Best batter and MVP: Natasha Schwartz.
• Chippewa Major A: Best batter, MVP, Players’ choice: Brenton Faulds. Best pitcher: Christopher Bruyns. Best fielder: Jarryd Ebersohn.
• Special Awards: Junior Merit Award: Anthony Chica. Junior Sportsman Award: Kian Schwartz. Senior Sportsman Award: Christopher Bruyns. Junior Club Member Award: Shawn Deyzel.
