Lions spoil on Easter

The Benoni Lakes Lions Club visited the Netcare Linmed Hospital on March 27 in the spirit of Easter, to show their appreciation for the staff.

“We are handing out 600 Easter eggs,” said Nick Maré, president of the club.

“But this goes further than handing out Easter eggs.

“It is to show the staff that they are appreciated and recognised.”

The club has 22 members at present.

“We include all families and their children because they also need to learn about community services,” said Maré.

Not only did they hand out Easter eggs, but they also invested their time in the project.

“We also spent time talking to the patients in the hospital, because visitors are few during these holidays,” he said.

The 600 Easter eggs were distributed to everyone in the hospital, from staff and patients to casualties.

The Easter eggs were received with gratitude and smiles from the staff, children and adults.
