CMS member dies in accident

The Community Monitoring Services (CMS) security company bore the loss of a member who was killed in an accident on Saturday (March 26).

“At approximately 10.30pm we (ER24) were made aware of a car accident on the corner of Stokroos and Oak streets, Northmead,” said ER24 spokesperson, Kelly Burchell.

The medical provider was made aware of the accident by the Benoni Community Police Forum (CPF).

“As we arrived on scene, we saw the CMS vehicle was against a tree,” Burchell said.

“The front passenger side of the car impacted the tree.

“Sadly, the CMS patrolman had succumbed to his injuries.”

The Benoni CPF is saddened by this loss and passed their condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased.

“We would also like to thank the patroller,” said Benoni CPF public relations officer, Marinda Beukes.

“For his dedication, to fight against crime.”

The exact cause of the accident is still unknown at this stage.

The City Times was unable to receive a comment from CMS at the time of publication.
