Water supply break ongoing

The municipality was still working to restore water supply to Crystal Park and parts of Cloverdene at 6pm today (February 22).

The water supply to the areas was interrupted after a main pipe in the area burst in the early morning.

“Technicians are currently on site implementing repairs on the damaged pipe and are expected to complete repairs by the end of the day,” said Themba Gadebe, EMM spokesperson, just after 3pm.

At 6pm, Gadebe could not confirm when the pipe was expected to be fixed.

“Meanwhile, two roving water tankers have been deployed to the area to supply water for domestic purposes,” Gadebe added.

“The EMM wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the interruption.”

EMM could not confirm exact drop-off points for the water tankers, but said they would stop at various centres and intersections in the area, where needed.
