An appeal to dog walkers

Mr and Mrs Smit write by email:

Dear dog walkers, we find your cause to be very good as you foster dachshunds.

Send your letters to bctletters@caxton.co.za

To walk your dogs before 8am, however, causes all the dogs to bark and howl, which is not very comforting to the residents.

We know you are walking the dogs before you even get to us.

There are a lot of care centres for kids in this area and it is home to Arbor Primary School, which has more than normal traffic in the mornings.

Parents drop off their kids earlier to avoid this.

When the dogs come it is chaos.

We have stress and crying babies.

The residents are biting their tongues not to lash out at you when you are walking by.

It must be said that, on a given day, you walk almost 10 dachshunds and it really disrupts the peace.

So, please, can we ask you to walk your dogs in the park located behind your residential address?

We really appreciate your good deed, but it is becoming a huge problem for the residents.
