Scrumptious meals at Cherrylane

A quiet evening in a garden setting at Cherrylane Gourmet Café, situated on 14th Avenue, Northmead, is the ideal way to end off the day.

The outside section is neatly nestled between trees and tucked away from the rest of the restaurant, which is beautifully decorated to create a romantic and comfortable ambience.

I recently frequented the establishment with a friend.

We were warmly welcomed by the waitron, who kindly showed us to our table.

After settling in and ordering something to drink, my friend, Sebolelo Sedumo, and I read through the menu to choose our starters.

I ordered the avocado ritz, a combination of prawns dipped in a tasty sauce with avocado on the side.

Sebolelo ordered the stuffed black mushrooms, stuffed with tomato and onion relish and topped with feta.

For the main course I had the mouth-watering butterfly fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and topped with a mushroom and cheese sauce.

Sebolelo had the lamb shank.

She describes the meat as succulent, with the gravy adding some saltiness to a delicious meal.

For dessert I had the chocolate volcano with a serving of vanilla ice cream.

Sebolelo had the chocolate mousse; her all-time favourite dessert.

There are three chef’s who each bring their own twist on each dish.

Customer’s can choose from a selection of wines that compliment the variety dishes offered on the menu.

It is a great place to eat out with friends or family without having to travel far. KM
