Pay your bills on time

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) is reminding residents to pay their municipal accounts on time this festive season.

Municipal offices will be closed between Christmas Day and New Year.

“Before setting off to your holiday destination, or being consumed by festive shopping, do stop by your nearest Ekurhuleni Customer Care Centre to settle your account,” said EMM spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

“Residents should do so to avoid credit control measures such as electricity disconnections being implemented.”

Registering on the metro’s online platform www.e-siyakhokha.co.za, will make viewing your statements and paying your accounts on time easier.

Municipal offices will be closed from 1pm on December 24, and will reopen on Monday, January 4.

Emergency services such as refuse collection, electricity and water will be operational, as usual, throughout the period.

While offices will be closed, residents can still contact the following numbers in case of an emergency:

n Municipal Services Call Centre 086 054 3000.

n Life-threatening emergencies 011 458 0911/ 10177/ 112 (from a mobile phone).
