Two arrested for transporting stolen rusks

Two men were arrested on November 11 for being in possession of approximately R400 000 worth of Ouma Rusks.

Lieut Nomsa Sekele, Benoni SAPS spokesperson, said the Benoni crime intelligence detectives received information about a truck carrying stolen goods.

The members, along with the Benoni cluster priority task team and the EMPD, responded to a yard on Maroleng Street, Daveyton.

Two men, aged 43 and 44, were arrested at the address.

Sekele said the goods were stolen from a company in Randfontein, in a case opened on November 9.

The truck used to transport the rusks was hijacked, but Sekele could not confirm when and where it was hijacked. The suspects have been charged with possession of suspected stolen goods and will appear in court soon.
