Woman raped by intruders

A case of house robbery and rape has been opened at the Crystal Park Police Station after a woman was raped in Chief Albert Luthuli Park, on August 17.

Crystal Park SAPS media liaison officer Tryna Maritz said it is alleged that two men knocked on the door of the victim’s home.

“The man (the woman’s husband) looked through the window and saw a neighbour, who said he needed help,” said Maritz.

“When the man opened the door, he was approached by two armed men, who pointed a gun at him and forced their way into the house.

“The man’s wife was sitting in bed when one suspect pointed a guy at her and instructed her to undress.”

Both men raped her and afterwards they forced her to get water to wash herself.

The suspects fled with two cell phones.

No arrests have been made.

Police are investigating.
