Life The Glynnwood celebrates Mandela Day
Free health checks were the order of the day at Life The Glynnwood, on Friday, last week.
In honour of Mandela Day, staff members, visitors and the general public were invited to participate in the hospital’s wellness day.
The Discovery Wellness Experience provided a high-tech digital full body analysis for Discovery members who were present.
Stalls displayed various types of merchandise, for the public to gain more insight into the companies represented.
These included Virgin Active, Lancet, Old Mutual, Herbalife and Sieff Optometrists.
Julie Stark, an ICAS employee said: ”The hospital is doing something great for their staff and the public.”
Cynthia Boshielo, a Lancet employee, described the day as interesting and said it encouraged people to keep fit.
”They should do it more often,” she added.
Boxes of tinned food were collected on the day and all the donations were delivered to Colin House, a charity home linked to Benoni Child Welfare.
Steyn Opperman, hospital manager at Life The Glynnwood, said: “This was our chance to give back to the community in honour of Mr Mandela, and we were glad to celebrate this special day,”
