Business women empowered on economics
East Rand Business women were taught about the country's economic outlook at this month's meeting.
The event was held at the Birchwood Hotel, on Wednesday, July 8.
The guest speaker was Nedbank’s chief economist, Nicky Weimer, who shared her thoughts on the economy.
She said that, over the years, our country’s economy has not been growing at a fast enough rate.
This, according to Weimer, is due to a number of issues, including a lack of power generating capacity, relative constraints on cost competitiveness and an uncertain economic policy environment.
East Rand Business Women members felt empowered and enlightened by the talk.
The group meets every second Wednesday of the month, at the Birchwood Hotel.
