Man dies in Rynfield car accident
A 63-year-old man died following a head-on collision in Rynfield this evening (July 8).
The accident occurred on the corner of Uys Street and Hull Road at around 6.15pm.
The driver of a light motor vehicle died after the vehicle he was travelling in crashed with a Volvo.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said paramedics arrived on scene and found the driver of the light motor vehicle in a critical condition.
She said his condition deteriorated and he died while still entrapped inside the car.
The male driver of the Volvo and his female passenger were not injured.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
The City Times was not able to receive comment from EMPD spokesperson Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago at the time of publishing.
