The arrests were made after officers stopped a Toyota Hilux on Tom Jones Street, for not having a front registration plate.
“They found a registration plate belonging to a VW Golf in the vehicle and the driver was found with a zip-lock bag of Cat – and his passenger with a packet of dagga,” said Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson.
The men were charged with possession of drugs, displaying a false registration plate and being in possession of a registration plate not belonging to their vehicle.
The charges were opened at the Benoni SAPS, and they were expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrates Court on May 11.
