A run for blankets
Fit Fans is doing a blanket run for Project Feed The Children, on June 6.
For every 20 blankets collected, Fit Fans will run 1km, the goal being 500 blankets, double their total for last year.
These blankets will go to Cloverdene Campus, where Fit Fans, together with Project Feed The Children, will hand them out to the children.
The run will start at 7am, outside Old Ben’s, on the corner of President Brand and President Boshoff roads, Rynfield.
The distance depends on the number of blankets collected, but runners will head towards Putfontein Road, before the N12 highway, just outside Chief Albert Luthuli Park.
The two drop-off zones currently available are:
- French Affair, at Rynfield Terrace, in Pretoria Road, Rynfield.
- Zen Ink Tattoos, corner of Leeuwpoort and Kaap streets, in Boksburg.
Fit Fans and Project Feed The Children are appealing to the public for donations, and socks, gloves and warm clothes are also welcome.
