Benonians battle each other off-road

The second round of the Totpak National Off-road Championship took place just outside Mbabane at the Usutu Country Club in Swaziland, last weekend.

It was a tough and challenging route which took riders through forests and mountain areas.

The race took its toll on participants, but in the OR2 class the battle was on for first position.

Jaycee Nienaber (D&H Engineering Works Yamaha Team) and Nicholas Pienaar (Ridgeway Racing Husqvarna), both from Benoni, battled to the finish line for the first place.

In the end, with a mere 12 seconds separating them, Jaycee Nienaber achieved a second place and Pienaar first.

Fellow teammate Roan Lindsey from Rustenburg was third.

On total championship points it is Nienaber who lies in the first position with Pienaar second, with a mere one point separating the two Benonians.

The third round of the Totpak National Off-road Championship will take place on Saturday, April 25, in the Mooi River area in KwaZulu Natal.
