Free Wi-Fi for blood donors

All 87 South African National Blood Service (SANBS) donor centres now offer free >Wi-Fi to people who donate blood.

“We know that many of our donors spend much of their time on social media platforms and downloading other applications, and now, compliments of SANBS, you have 60 minutes of free access to theinternet,” said Vanessa Raje, the service’s national communications manager.

All people who donate blood at any of the donor centres will receive one hour free Wi-Fi every 56 days, or on their next visit to donate blood.

Donors who donate platelets will receive their free access for an hour every four weeks, or at their next visit.

SANBS encourages donors to take selfies of their donation and to post them on the blood service’sFacebook page or Twitter handle.

Benoni residents can donate blood at the Northmead branch, in Fourteenth Avenue.
