Car flips on Great North Road, several injured
A man sustained serious injuries after the bakkie he was travelling in flipped on its side this afternoon (March 4) in Northmead.
The victim was one of four men who were being transported in a Nissan 1400 bakkie, when it collided with a light motor vehicle, on the corner of Great North and Hospital roads, just after 5pm.
Two of the passengers in the front of the bakkie, and another sitting in the back, inside a canopy, sustained minor injuries.
ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt said the seriously injured patient, who was also sitting in the back, is believed to have sustained internal injuries.
He was transported to the Tambo Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the light motor vehicle was not injured in the collision.
