Voice your knowledge through blogging

Ever feel that your expert opinion should be heard by more people?

Maybe you are a dentist and find people’s dental habits atrocious?

Maybe you are a gymnast who could lend a word of advice to those New Year’s resolutionists who struggle to melt off the weight they have gained over the festive season.

Or perhaps you simply have an innate talent for comedy and would like to spread some cheer within the community.

If so, blogging is for you…

Blogging has rapidly become a trendy platform for individuals to express themselves on a regular basis.

However, not all of our folk are yet familiar with the concept, amongst whom could be very talented bloggers, which is why I thought it well to explain how blogging works.

It is very simple really; a blog is basically an information channel, powered by regularly updated posts.
These are written by a blogger, generally in a very opinionated and informal style.

Bloggers normally specialise in a topic of interest, which forms the basis of their posts, for instance sports, fashion or healthcare blogging to name but a few.

It is also customary to choose a pseudonym which becomes your brand for people to remember you by and start following your updates.

Some bloggers have their own websites, while others make use of bloggers’ spaces and company websites.

The City Times just so happen to be one of these and invites potential guest bloggers to speak their minds.

Remember that discrimination and foul language are not appropriate and will not be accepted.
Other than that it is pretty much an open canvas.

As with any hobby, practice makes perfect and to build followers you will need to update your posts regularly; at least once a month.

In most circumstances blogging is not remunerated and is merely practised for the love of writing.
