Ntsiki’s resilience gets her to Miss SA grand finale

It's Ntsiki Mkhize's need to motivate and inspire young women that sets her apart and allowed her to grab a spot in the Top 12 of the Miss South Africa 2015 pageant.

She has all the qualities that anyone could need from a role model in South Africa, and she hopes to encourage and assist business-driven women.

Ntsiki, a former Wattville resident, does not believe in giving up as she has entered the pageant four times.

“I truly believe in the values of the pageant and I think my story is one of resilience,” she said.

“I would like to share with other women that you can achieve your dreams if you work hard.

Ntsiki, who now lives in Kliprivier, Midvaal made it to the Top 12 of Miss SA Teen in 2007, and to the Miss South Africa semi-finals (Top 32, 2013) and the Top 33 in 2014.

The 23-year-old works as a partnerships and events manager for Small Business Connect.

Ntsiki says she would be honoured to represent South Africa, because she knows she has the qualities needed by Miss South Africa.

“My desire to motivate and inspire other young women comes from my belief that I have the been called for a higher purpose,” she said.

“I also wake up each day with a joy for life and expectations for great things to happen.”

Ntsiki was anxious as she waited for the Top 12 results, because she was one of the last contestants to be called.

“I was nervous, because there were only a few spots left and anything could happen, but even with those anxious thoughts I felt a sense of calm, knowing I had given my best,” she said.

Her future aspirations include growing her involvement in business and entrepreneurship.

“I will build my business Cream (Creating Revolutionary Entrepreneurs and Moguls) to support youth in business and expand the number of schools we visit with the Song Foundation (Shaping Our Next Generation),” she added.

She would also like to acquire her MBA before the age of 30 and, hopefully, move on to host a talk show across Africa.

With the grand finale taking place on March 29, Ntsiki will prepare herself mentally and physically to ensure that she is ready for the night.
