Baby survives Farrarmere accident in which car lands on roof

A five-month-old baby was fortunate not to sustain any injuries when the car in which she was being transported overturned this morning (Wednesday).

The accident, involving two vehicles, occurred on Kei Road, Farrarmere, shortly before 8am.

“Paramedics arrived on scene and found that a light motor vehicle and SUV had collided, causing the SUV to flip onto its roof,” said ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt.

“Bystanders took paramedics to the SUV, where they found that a five-month-old baby was still strapped in her car chair.

“She was assessed and found not to have suffered any physical injuries.”

The driver of the SUV, a woman in her 20s, suffered minor injuries.

She and the baby girl were transported to hospital by ER24.

The driver of the second vehicle was not injured, while the passenger was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
