A wine for every palate

The exhibition will be held at the Pavilion, Sandton Convention Centre, Maude Street, Sandton, from Wednesday to Friday, October 29 to 31.

With an exciting range of exhibitors lined up and at least 800 wines available for tasting, show visitors can look forward to the constellation of wines and varietals on display.

Celebrating 15 years as Jozi’s “must do” wine festival, RMB WineX is the event to discover your pleasure, mingle with winemakers, learn the lingo, taste at the table talk pop ups and drink in the vibe.

The Rotary Club of Benoni Aurora has been involved with WineX since its inception, and provides all the manpower.

Denis Brandjes, president of the club, said WineX is Aurora’s largest annual fund-raiser.

For this function, which involves over 300 labour-shifts, and planning for over a month, the club receives a fee.

Furthermore, exhibitors donate wines to Aurora at the end of the show, which are then sorted and sold as mixed cases into certain channels.

“In 2013, the WineX activities raised over R245,000 which went to benefit our projects including John Wesley Community Centre, Zama Montessori School and the Thembela Kubaba Creche,” said Brandjes.

Also on show will be a range of olive products, luxury stemware and fine South African brandy.

Mastrantonio will be serving delicious deli “food-on-the-move”.

Be prepared to view the list of wines and floor plan via www.winex.co.za, or download the WineX app and wise-up to wine ratings via the WineWizard.

Vote for the best wines on show at the iPad stations; stock your wine cellar via shop@show and enjoy the convenience of delivery to your door.

RMB WineX supports responsible consumption: breathalysers will be on hand throughout the evening and cab services, including Uber, are a must.

The exhibition will be from 5pm to 9pm each night.
