Labuschagne’s road rage assailants nabbed

Benoni police detective WO Peter Mobonani traced and nabbed three of the four men who allegedly beat and kicked Lucas Labuschagne (73) to death, on May 30.

Labuschagne had just had an operation in the stomach was kicked fatally on the operation wound, at the intersection of Dewald Hattingh and Heidelberg roads, at around 4pm.

He started bleeding, lost lots of blood and then died.

The four men, said to be Zimbabwean nationals, then drove away from the scene.

Police traced them through the registration plate of the trailer they were pulling with their Mercedes Benz.

Benoni police spokesperson Lieut Nomsa Sekele said the men were arrested at a house in Daveyton.

They have appeared in the Benoni Magistrates Court this morning (June 5), and their case was postponed to June 9, for bail applications.

  1. Why even offer a bail application. Pay R1000 and then never to be seen again. Really think we should be tougher with the foreign criminal element. Lock them up and throw away the key or leave them to the North Rand dog squad.
