The facility was opened on March 21, at 815 Swaziland Street.
The 24-hour facility is there to assist women and children who have fallen victim to violence and traumatic incidents.
Tryna Maritz, Crystal Park SAPS media liaison officer, said the Green Door was placed in Chief Albert Luthuli Park to allow for fast, accessible help to the community in that area.
She said the centre does not replace the trauma centre at the Crystal Park Police Station or the client service centre.
Maritz said the Green Door is staffed by volunteers who will provide counselling to victims.
“The SAPS works closely with the coordinator and visits the Green Door to ensure that all complaints are attended to,” said Maritz.
