Air Supply, to perform at Emperors Palace

A breath of fresh "entertainment" air will hit Gauteng in April, when international '80s duo Air Supply perform live in the Emperors Palace Centre Court, on April 25 and 26.

With over 100 million albums sold and eight Top Ten hits in the United States, the band has firmly positioned themselves as an all-time favourite over the years, with hits such as “Lost in Love”, “All Out of Love”, “The One That You Love”, “Sweet Dreams”, and “Making Love Out Of Nothing At All”.

Fans will be able to reminisce and remember the good old leg-warmers, big hair and shoulder-pad days.

The two performers, Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock, met in 1975, the first day of rehearsals for “Jesus Christ Superstar”, in Australia; they became instant friends with their common love for The Beatles and, of course, singing.

After the shows, the two would play at pizza parlours, coffee bars and night clubs, with just one guitar and two voices.

They quickly gained a reputation for great harmonies and original songs.

They made a demo and took it to every record company in Sydney. A single was then made in one afternoon and it shot to number one on the national charts – Air Supply was born.

Doors will open at 7pm, for the shows to start at 8pm.
