Achieve fantastic, firmer skin

What could have been an ordinary, grey rainy day on Tuesday, March 4, turned out to be one of my most relaxing and memorable ones, when I paid a visit to Gail Minott in her cosy beauty salon, Face Value, at 18 Long Tom Avenue, in Boatlake Village, Rynfield.

Most women dream of having flawless and youthful, porcelain-doll-like skin, and try all sorts of measures to accomplish this.

Face Value recently introduced an Esthesio machine among its equipment and the City Times tried out two treatments it has to offer.

Radio Frequency therapy was the first, followed by Cryotherapy.

Esthesio is a six-pole multi-applicator radio frequency energy that, for the face, tightens skin, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, reduces a double chin and improves the profile and activation of collagen.

Gail said Esthesio eliminates all the shortcomings of previous general radio frequency technology and does not damage healthy tissue.

It can also be used for the body, to create the perfect curve, contouring your figure as it dissolves fat.

“This machine caught my eye, because it does so much and people can actually afford its treatments,” Gail told the City Times.

The radio frequency therapy was performed on my facial area.

Using a probe, Gail made small motions on my skin for 15 minutes on each side of my face.

I indulged in this relaxing experience as the probe was warm and felt gentle, like a little massage.

Together with the light drizzle of rain outside, and Gail’s friendly, homely environment, I was in the ultimate state of relaxation, and this was made even better knowing that my skin was being enhanced.

Face Value has been beautifying local residents since 1988 and, although the salon offers many treatments, such as manicures, pedicures waxing, peels and many different facials, amongst others, Gail specialises in skin care.

She has worked in the industry since she was 18 years of age and is constantly going on new training courses.

“I stay up to date with what’s new and trending in the beauty industry,” she said.

Next she performed Cryotherapy, or “freeze therapy”, on me, similar to the radio frequency therapy, also using a probe, except that it was cold.

This rejuvenation treatment is used to restore firmness, tone and radiance to fatigued skin.

It also helps to decrease pigmentation.

Though a bit more of a chill, this was just as relaxing and also a refreshing feeling.

Gail said results are visual after two weeks.

She said there are even a few men who have the treatment done.

She added that the treatment can be done twice a week to obtain the best results. TB
