Priorities key for Wilson

"Just concentrate on your school work.

“Do not worry about perfection or popularity.”

These are the words of St Dunstan’s College matriculant, James Wilson, who obtained eight distinctions, at an average of 87 per cent, in the 2013 Independent Examinations Board (IEB) exams.

He managed distinctions in English home language, geography, life orientation, life sciences, mathematics (top one per cent), advanced programme mathematics, mathematics paper three and physical sciences.

Wilson managed a distinction in geography despite studying the subject for a total of four hours.

Wilson was pleased with his results and achieved the results he expected he would, saying time management was key.

He will study electrical engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand.

“I have always wanted to do something useful and I am interested in maths and science and there is a shortage of electrical engineers,” said Wilson.
