Officers received recognition certificates at the station’s year-end function, held at the Ekurhuleni Lodge, on November 27.
At the same function, leave was taken of long serving supply chain personnel member Kobus Kriel.
Oom Kriel, as he is affectionately known, served in the station’s supply chain for 29 years.
Acting station commander Col Thomas Maupa commended all those who received certificates on the day and thanked Kriel for his “outstanding and wonderful contribution”.
Lieut-Col Khathazile Baloyi broke into tears while saying goodbye to Kriel, saying he was an asset to the station.
Certificates were awarded as follows:
Best supply chain management personnel: Glenda Bouwer
Best sector manager: WO Elizabeth Ntshabele
Best shift: Relief Shift A
Best court officer: WO Ziphozonke Msimango
Best detective: WO Peter Mbonani
Best firearm registration centre (FRC) personnel member: Vigie Perumal
Best management information centre (MIC) personnel member: WO Eric Nkuna
