November 13 water shut down for Benoni

Parts of Benoni will be left without water tomorrow (November 13) due to a planned water supply shutdown.

“The shutdown is due to repair work to be carried out on a cross-connecting pipeline which needs to be connected to run more effectively from the Rand Water main supply pipeline,” said Ekurhuleni divisional spokesperson Mandlakazi Mpahlwa-Sigcawu.

The areas affected include: Western Extension, Actonville, Benoni South, Benoni Industrial, Wattville, and Tamboville.

These areas will be without water from 8am to 10pm.

The following water points have been made available for people who wish to collect water.

Western Extension: Sunnyside and Lakefield avenues, corner Bunyan Street and Prince’s Avenue, Harrison and Cranbourne avenues, The Drive and Walsh Avenue, Benoni West School, Railway Avenue, Beryl Avenue and The Life Glynnwood Hospital.

Actonville, Benoni Industrial and Benoni South: Mabuya Street, Wattville, the vicinity of the Actonville Library, Actonville Cycle, near the BP filling station.

Wattville: Corner of Dube and Nkosi streets, corner of Dube and Xaba streets, corner of Dube Thami streets.

Tamboville: O R Tambo Cemetery, Mamkele Street, Sebotsane and Abie Nyalunga streets and Jangu and Lasabe streets.
