Bogus bomb scare at Ashbury Private School
Police responded to a bomb scare at Ashbury Private School, in Orchard Street, Crystal Park, on Tuesday.
Crystal Park SAPS, the metro and SAPS K9 units and the SAPS bomb squad responded to the call.
They did not find a bomb at the school.
Police were alerted to the scare after a woman in the school’s administration department received a called warning of a bomb at the school at 12.35pm.
According to Crystal Park SAPS media liaison officer, Tryna Maritz, people at the school vacated the buildings and stood on the school’s field shortly after the call.
Maritz said police have opened a bomb threat docket and the bomb squad will investigate further and attempt to trace the call made to the school.
