Dance festival to be held at Sibikwa
On September 14, the Sibikwa Arts Centre will host its second annual Dance Motsami Festival.
Dance Motsami is a culmination of a six-month project entitled Adopt-a-School.
Dance Company members taught pupils from Grade Four to Nine in nine schools, situated in the Daveyton and Etwatwa area, the new dance curriculum.
Dance Company members worked alongside teachers in the classroom to assist them with this transition, demonstrating how to structure a lesson, prepare a lesson plan, and focus on various aspects of the curriculum and assessment and evaluation.
On the morning of September 14, 135 talented young dancers will prepare for their performance at the theatre.
Each group will present a dance piece no longer than 10 minutes, focusing on a particular aspect of the curriculum.
The dance presentations will run from 1.30pm until 4pm.
