Business women enjoy a day out on the green
The women enjoyed a day of fun in the sun as Women’s Month draws to an end.
East Rand Business Women (ERBW) members traded their heels for sensible flats, as they tried their hands at lawn bowls on August 23.
Divided into teams, the women, many of whom have never set foot on a bowling green, received a crash course from the knowledgeable members of the Benoni Lakes Bowling Club.
With their glasses charged and laughter echoing across the lawn, ERBW members aimed, gingerly rolling the woods at their target.
“In celebration of Women’s Month and the women that make our organisation so special, we ditched the formalities to engage in some fun in the sun,” said Ingrid Delport, a committee member.
“Who knows, we might discover some hidden talents.”
After a quick practise round and their eagle-eyed aim honed in, the games kicked into full gear.
“I have it,” said Linda Dippenaar. “I could be a national champion.”
