Garlands has Christmas in July

Fun, laughter and singing made for an eventful afternoon.

During this month’s Garlands Ladies Luncheon Club meeting on July 27, the formalities went out the door when members and their guests slipped on their dancing shoes.

While the cold weather gingerly eased its grip, the Garlands were dressed in fiery red to celebrate the club’s annual Christmas in July lunch, with Louise Beastall hosting a music quiz.

As hits from the oldies to noughties blared from the speakers, those in attendance competed for spot prizes and bragging rights for giving the correct answers.

Despite the doors leading into Ebotse Golf and Country Estate’s Katse Room being shut, the ladies’ voices carried down the corridors when they sang along to the tunes, drowning out the melodic voices of ‘old blue eyes’ and Dolly Parton.

The club will meet again on August 24 to host one of the country’s most formidable sleuths, Mike Bolhuis.
