AfriForum does a ‘hole’ lot in Benoni

The group has so far fixed 170 potholes.

AfriForum Benoni recently fixed 170 potholes using 230 bags of tar.

According to AfriForum’s public relations officer, Kevin van der Mescht, the money for the tar came from their membership revenue and donations by organisations and community members.

He said they regularly do community projects.

“Every month, we volunteer to repair potholes, clean up parks and patrol to keep the community safe.

“We thank every AfriForum Benoni member who contributes because it enables us to keep helping the community.”

AfriForum Benoni has 1 605 members and operates as an NPC.

“We serve as a civil rights watchdog set on protecting and promoting the rights of citizens.

“The group was established in 2017 by residents concerned about the deterioration of our state institutions and services,” explained Van der Mescht.
