Actonville SAPS welcomes new commanders
New management has urged community members to work together with police to fight crime.
The Actonville SAPS has appointed a new station commander, Colonel Mbhazima Maswanganyi, who takes over the ropes from Lieutenant Colonel Louis Maluleke, the acting station commander.
Maswanganyi, who resides in Germiston, started his career in the SAPS in 1991 when he underwent training at Hammanskraal College.
The new leader previously worked at Katlehong SAPS under the Public Order Policing (POP) unit and at Primrose SAPS as a Crime Prevention Commander.
He also worked at Alberton SAPS as Vispol Commander.
The 53-year-old said he would like to see the community working together with the police to eradicate crime in Actonville and surrounding areas.
“Our priority function is to reduce crime. This will be achievable if we focus more on community mobilisation and having more stakeholders participating in crime prevention,” said Maswanganyi.
The police station has also appointed three commanders in other divisions.
The new commanders are Lieutenant Colonel Mackson Phuti Nyaku (support commander), Warrant Officer Tebogo Maleka (acting Vispol commander) and Captain Shawn Naidoo (Criminal Information Management and Analysis Center (CIMAC).
