Businesswoman gives back to her primary school

The businesswoman said it had always been her dream to give back to the community, especially her former school.

A former learner at Letsha Primary School in Daveyton has ploughed back to her school.

Refiloe Sesoko, now a businesswoman, recently donated 10 pairs of school shoes to learners at the school.

According to Sesoko, it was always her dream to give back to the community, especially her former school that laid a foundation in her life.

“There is a lot I wanted to do in my community and the school, so I decided to start small with the little I have and make a difference in these children’s lives.

“I got so emotional when handing over the shoes. You could see from their faces that they were full of happiness and joy. You could tell they really needed those shoes.”

She said while growing up, she didn’t have everything she needed, leading her to realise that children should not lack basic needs like school uniforms and shoes.

“My inspiration for giving and sharing stems from watching BI Phakathi’s (a filmmaker, motivational speaker, and life coach) videos,” said Sesoko.

She grew up in Daveyton and is a founder and managing director of Phoenix Business Enterprise.
