Policeman donates school shoes on his birthday

The officer recently turned 39.

While many people choose to celebrate their birthdays over lunch or dinner at fancy restaurants, a local policeman has, however, decided to celebrate his differently.

Sergeant Sifiso Seloane of Putfontein SAPS, who recently turned 39, donated 24 pairs of school shoes to underprivileged learners of Umnyezani Primary School based in Putfontein.

According to Seloane, he saw a need to give back to the community on his birthday.

“It pains me to see learners walking long distances to school barefooted every day, hence I decided to reach out to them.”

Seloane was accompanied by his supportive colleagues. During the handover, he reminded learners that education is the key to success and further advised learners to remain disciplined.
