Kids Haven is looking for new members to join the organisation.

Kids Haven is a child and youth care centre which provides residential care to up to 166 children outside their family’s environment through a residential care programme suited for the children in the facility.

With four new job possibilities, Kids Haven seeks to appoint an HR and payroll administrator, campus and fleet supervisor (permanent position), resources and charity shop coordinator and childcare worker (permanent position).

Campus (buildings) and fleet supervisor

Assist the CEO and team leaders to manage maintenance staff, ensuring quality service to Kids Haven regarding inside and outside maintenance of buildings, electrical and plumbing work, general building maintenance and other tasks aligned to maintaining a safe and suitable environment for the care and protection of children.

The quality of services provided must meet organisational standards and legal health and safety requirements.

• Experience and qualifications required
A minimum of five years of similar or appropriate experience. References are required, no criminal record, police clearance, working knowledge of the occupational health and safety act, Microsoft suite (Excel, MS Word, and Outlook), experience working in a team, strong verbal and written communication skills and a driver’s licence.

HR and payroll administrator

Assist the CEO, assistant director, and team leaders to support all HR-related matters reporting to the assistant director.

• Experience and qualifications required
A minimum of five years of similar or appropriate experience. References are required, no criminal record, police clearance, proficiency in Sage payroll systems, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Word, and Outlook), working knowledge of basic conditions of the Employment Act and related relevant legal regulations, sstrong verbal and written communication skills and driver’s licence.

Resources and charity shop coordinator

Sorting of donations and allocations for use. Responsible for all activities related to the day-to-day receipt, sorting and management of donated new and used goods to Kids Haven.

Working hours are 08:00 to 17:00 daily (may include weekend markets by prior arrangement).

Childcare worker

Working in the living space of teenage boys. Manage health and hygiene of the centre, provide daily care for children, manage homework, run developmental programs and implement individual development plans.

• Requirements
Preferably male, Grade 12, NQF level 4 in child and youth care, must be able to commit to 48-hour live-in shifts, current SACSSP registration, at least three years experience in a residential childcare centre, have driver’s licence an advantage and must be passionate about working with children in an NPO setting.

Working hours: 48-hour shifts, 18 days leave per year.
