Donate to the Benoni SPCA Cheer Fund

All proceeds will go towards important projects for the betterment of the society and the many animals they care for.

The Benoni SPCA Christmas Cheer Fund is slowly gaining momentum, with about R7 770 raised so far.

The local SPCA is still appealing to individuals and companies to donate towards the Christmas Cheer Fund, which kicked off on October 1.

Every year, around Christmas time, the SPCA finds its kennels full to the brim with donated, stray and abandoned animals.

The purpose of the Cheer Fund is to raise funds to cater for all the furry friends that must be fed and to give some Christmas treats to all the unfortunate pets behind bars.

According to the Benoni SPCA manager, Darryn Potgieter, they are hoping to raise about R100 000 this year.

“The society is planning to have a borehole drilled and connected to our taps to help clean our kennels. We are planning to buy razor wire fence, dog runs, build a cattery and play area for the animals,” said Potgieter.
