Suspects between the ages of 26 and 34 were arrested during routine weekend operations

During routine weekend operations, members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested five suspects and recovered two vehicles.

• An illegal national was arrested on November 5 at the N12, Snake Road off-ramp.

• Two suspects were arrested in separate incidents on November 6 at Albertina Sisulu and Emaphupeni, Etwatwa. Crystal methamphetamine and nyaope were confiscated.

• In the early hours of November 7, members were conducting patrols on the N12 near Sundra, when they pulled a FAW truck over to conduct a routine stop-and-search operation. The truck was transporting 60 gas cylinders.
After members requested documents about the transport of the cylinders, the driver handed them R850 as proof.
Both the driver and his passenger were arrested on charges of bribery and being in possession of suspected stolen goods.
The two foreign nationals will appear in court soon.

• Two abandoned vehicles were recovered during the weekend.
A silver Toyota Hilux was found on the corners of Howard and Bunyan streets, Benoni. It was reported as stolen in Putfontein.
A white Toyota Fortuner was found in Ehlanzeni Section, Tembisa. It was reported as hijacked in Primrose.
