Rynfield man arrested for home-made weapons

The weapons are capable of firing shotgun bullets and is untraceable

Benoni police arrested a man in Rynfield on charges of being in possession of unlawful ammunition and domestic violence on October 4.

According to Captain Nomsa Sekele, spokesperson for the police station, officers responded to the residence at 23:50 after a complaint of domestic violence was received.

“Upon arrival, officers found that the 23-year-old suspect was in possession of two homemade weapons capable of firing shotgun bullets, two petrol bombs and shotgun ammunition,” she said.

“The intended use for the weapons has not yet been established and investigations continue.”

A secondary charge of domestic violence was brought against the suspect by his stepfather.
