Superstars Academy opens European doors for aspiring footballers

This partnership will see Procamps provide the academy’s players and coaches with opportunities in the UK and Europe, while also hosting coaching camps in South Africa.

ProcampsUK Ltd has announced a collaboration with Boksburg-based Superstars Academy to develop and deliver programmes in both South Africa and the UK.

This partnership will see Procamps provide the academy’s players and coaches with opportunities in the UK and Europe, while also hosting coaching camps in South Africa.

The organisation confirmed that the agreement also includes sharing ideas and knowledge on football.

“The collaboration will endeavour to identify any individual with the necessary talent and make available further opportunities with the UK and European teams.

“Superstars Academy players will also be able to access a reduction to programmes we deliver,” ProcampsUK said in a statement.

Procamps will help the academy broaden its scope by allowing players and coaches access to seminars on administration, fitness programmes for age-specific players and nutritional advice seminars.

Superstars Academy coaches will also be invited to attend camps in England and be afforded opportunities to train at Premier League club, Fulham FC.

“The programmes will incorporate Fulham coaches and the FFC coaching methodology with the possibility of visits to the UK and Fulham FC for coaching experiences as well as visits to the Fulham FC training ground (Motspur Park) and stadium (Craven Cottage).”

Procamps will host coaching camps in South Africa to help Superstars Academy coaches and other local football coaches develop their craft.

“Coach education would also be an area of development. This can be offered to the coaching staff and external coaches from other clubs in South Africa. This would be ProcampsUK Ltd supported by Fulham Football Club and using Fulham FC coaching staff and practices.”

The organisation will also promote Superstars Academy programmes while the academy is expected to support Procamps in any recruitment drive programmes.

Superstars Academy chairperson Shan Naidoo explained that this opportunity is for the whole Ekurhuleni region. He said they will partner with local clubs to expose many footballers from the region to these opportunities.

“This is huge for our club. Procamps has allowed us the opportunity to go on tours and camps and allowed the players to be exposed to international standards and quality coaching. Our coaches will also have opportunities to learn from UEFA-licensed coaches,” Naidoo said.

“We are limited in what we can do for young people in football opportunities in South Africa. All our players know the local leagues – the GDL and SAFA leagues. We are opening a dream bigger than South Africa.

“We are giving them exposure. There will be UEFA coaches watching at these camps and all they need is to spot one or two players and give them opportunities.”
