Elethu Daveyton Cheshire Home receives wheelchair donations

The disabled people at the home needed the wheelchairs to move around the premises

Elethu Daveyton Cheshire Home received a warm donation of wheelchairs for its residents recently.

As part of giving back to the community, a retired nurse who used to work at the Crystal Park Clinic donated the wheelchairs after the home had a shortage of wheelchairs.

Social worker, Nkanyezi Ntshobeni, expressed gratitude for the donation received.

“We know that wheelchairs are scarce and our people can’t afford to buy them, so we are very happy about the donations.

“The residents are delighted because wheelchairs are an aid for them to function properly in the community,” said Ntshobeni.

Nedbank also donated office furniture as part of its initiative between Daveyton Boxer and Ward 71 Clr Thembinkosi Lubisi.

“The ward councillor has been working together with Boxer and Nedbank to assist with the needs of the Cheshire home.”

Elethu Daveyton Cheshire Home manager Sandile Mafu said such donations are proof that the community is willing to help the home with its needs.

“Our home is blessed to be in an area where there are caring community members. We appreciate the donations and we urge people to donate anything that will help the people of this home,” said Mafu.
