Community services at Northfield continue to grow

Services and support available at Northfield Methodist Church

Northfield Methodist Church (NFMC) is alive with activity and offers a variety of services to the community.

One such programme is the Support Group for Loss and Grief.

The group meets every Tuesday at The Well from 18:30 to 21:00

The aim is to assist anyone experiencing loss or grief in any shape or form, be it death, the end of a relationship, loss of employment, financial instability or feeling that you have lost a sense of who you are.

All losses need to be grieved and acknowledged.

The group is open to anyone in need of fellowship and support during uncertain times.

For more information email Jackie Hayter at jackie@nfmc.org.za or WhatsApp on 079 049 0409.

Employment development
Due to the lockdown restrictions, the church’s long-running Employment Development programme was unable to assist with placements; however, the service is once again up and running.

The service is aimed at connecting informal jobseekers with prospective employers.

Placements include domestic workers, gardeners as well as childminders and caregivers.

A R50 registration fee is required, which includes skills development training and workshops.

NFMC assists prospective employers with employee reference checks and referrals are kept on a database.

Interviews take place every Monday between 08:30 and 12:00.

For more information or to schedule an appointment with registered workers email mission@nfmc.org.za or call 010 140 0210.
