House robbers arrested

The complainant and his friends were chilling when the suspects entered the house.

Three friends relaxing at one of their homes in Chief Albert Luthuli Park were robbed of their belongings inside the home at about 22:15 on March 27.

According to Crystal Parks SAPS spokesperson Sgt Lerato Mopeli, three armed men wearing balaclavas broke in and then separated the friends by putting them in different rooms.

“They assaulted the friends while demanding cash. During the robbery clothing items, a PlayStation, cellphones and a white Ford Ranger were stolen. The white Ford Ranger was recovered later that day,” said Mopeli.

She added that when trio task team members follow-up on information about the whereabouts of the suspects, it came to light that they were in Katlehong.

On March 23, two of the three suspects were arrested and found in possession of a stolen Audi A4, a bag with the stolen clothes as well as the PlayStation.

The two suspects, aged 44 and 43, are facing charges of house robbery. They have already appeared in court.
