“Upon arrival on the scene, members learned that the trailer containing more than 600 aluminium strips was being offloaded in a business park, in Haggit Street, Dunswart,” said WO Grant Giblin, BFS spokesperson.

“The suspects were caught in the act and arrested. The truck, trailer and stock were recovered.”

Further successes include:
• A man was arrested at an estate in Dunlin Road, Norkem Park, for being in possession of six black bags containing dagga, with an estimated value of R1 000.
At the Norkem Park Police Station, members were approached by another man, offering them R1 100 for the release of the suspect.
He was also arrested and was charged with bribery.
“We once again caution members of the public not to offer bribes to police officers,” said Giblin.
“You will be arrested and charged.”

• In two separate incidents, two men were arrested and charged for being in possession of drugs in Huretse Street and a Daveyton hostel.
Dagga was recovered.
