Old Bens too good for Avion

Old Bens posted 236/6 after their overs, with opener Saahil Khan scoring 72 runs.

The Old Benonians Cricket Club outclassed Avion Park after beating the Kempton Park outfit by 129 runs at Willowmoore Park on January 23.

Old Bens posted 236/6 after their overs, with opener Saahil Khan scoring 72 runs. Mekyle Pillay chipped in with 58 not out, while Joshua Watt added to the scoreboard with 68 not out to leave Avion with a target of 264 for a win.

Avion captain Ruan Kotze’s 49 was not enough for the run chase, as his opening partner, Christiaan Conradie (25), and Marco Kruger (16) were the only other batsmen to register double figures. Avion was eventually dismissed for 134 all out after 40.1 overs.
