Water tankers dispatched in Etwatwa due to water interruptions

“Arrangements are underway for additional resources, such as Jojo tanks and mobile tankers and such will be allocated to all schools and medical centres in the area.”

The Ekurhuleni metro is aware of the water interruptions in Etwatwa and is on-site with a team of experts from Rand Water to establish the source of the problem.

Some areas in Etwatwa have been without water since October 31 and according to the metro, efforts are being made to ensure that the problems are resolved as speedily as possible.

“In the meantime, and to minimise the impact of the outage to affected residents, mobile water tankers have been organised,” said Zweli Dlamini, the metro’s spokesperson.

Several water tankers have been dispatched and are located as follows:

• Shimasi
• Tshipinoto
• Chrishan Drive
• Madikizela
• Etwatwa Ext 37 next to Bafana Bafana
• Barcelona Etwatwa 34 Koppie Motibang next to Mathousand
• Barcelona Etwatwa Ext 34 Cnr Tsitsikama and Tai streets
• Philip Moyo Clinic (Etwatwa Ext 19)
• Mandela Ext 21, Bila Street and Tshoma
• Mandela Ext 24, Cnr Ndambi and Baduza streets
• Steve Biko – Selekane
• Sithole Ext 37
• Solly Rolihlahla
• Thembelihle Primary School
• Lucky Emaphupheni
• Sipho Sazakhele Primary
• Mapholoba Barcelona Clinic
• Khutso Barcelona X34

The metro would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.
