Academy hosts Friday night tournament

They are also running a five-a-side (Futsal) league between all the SSUSSs that takes place on Saturdays.

The SuperSport United Soccer School (SSUSS), based at the Benoni Country Club, recently hosted a Friday Night Under The Lights FDS evening at their home ground for all the children that train with the academy.

Results were not captured as this was a friendly tournament.

Coach Ryan Macfarlane said: “Friday night was the global Futsal Spring League between SSUSS Benoni and SSUSS Kempton Park. The games were fantastic. This tournament was an incredible developmental tool and a great way to create the complete footballer.”

They are also running a five-a-side (Futsal) league between all the SSUSSs that takes place on Saturdays and a seven-verses-seven league on Sundays in Florida, USA.

“Both formats of football, as well as our skills badge challenge, form part of what we believe will create the best footballers,” said Macfarlane.

“We will be focusing on all three of these events for the rest of the year. At SSUSS our season never ends, so football-mad children get to enjoy the game they love for 12 months of the year.”
